OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST & SOCIAL WORKER

The beginning of rehabilitation consists of attending a consultation with an occupational therapist or social worker who will become your co-ordinator throughout the rehabilitation. The co-ordinator helps you to put together your rehabilitation program.

PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELLING

Many people face mental health difficulties in relation to cancer treatment. Ljósið employs a psychological counsellor who specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and stress in relation to cancer diagnosis.

NUTRITIONIST

The goal of the consultation with the nutritionist is to find ways to improve or change your diet as well as educate on the importance of nutrition.

Coach

By receiving coaching based on honesty and your own values, you have both a more positive and more permanent impact on your perspective, behaviour, and willpower.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST/EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

A consultation with one of Ljósið’s physical therapists is one of the first steps of the rehabilitation process at the centre. The goal is to evaluate the person’s status in their treatment process and begin physical rehabilitation in accordance with that. Personal consultation is provided with regard to health-related and social factors to activate and encourage exercise and training in line with clinical guidelines.

FAMILY THERAPIST

Counselling with a family therapist is available for family members of the diagnosed, including children, youth, and adults, that provides support in tackling new and changed circumstances.
